A Reintroduction - A New Year Love Note

Happy Friday friends!

As we wrap up this week of New Year's Love Notes, I'd like to share a reintroduction and a love note to myself and who I am. And I hope you’ll respond with your own introduction and love note to yourself so I can witness who you are!

I’m a queer, white, neurodivergent, cis woman.

I love the ocean, belly laughs, and being in community with folks who are daring enough to imagine a better, more just world.

I’m an activist, disrupter, facilitator, mother, healer, and a wildly imperfect human. I try hard to approach life with a spirit of adventure. I chase joy every day and I love to help others do the same!

I love to look at the moon and have been known to send texts that just say “the moon!” regularly.

My daily walks on the beach feed my soul.

I enjoy meditating by candlelight, tickle fights, and dancing whenever possible, but especially in the kitchen. Kitchens were made for laughing and dancing and loving.

I pull oracle cards almost every day, regularly have a crystal in my bra or pants pocket, and I love few things more than a strong cup of tea and a good hug.

For all of the ways that the last 2 years have been profoundly challenging, they've also been a gorgeous invitation for each of us to rediscover who we are. When met with uncertainty and the crumbling of so much of my life, I started searching. Don’t get me wrong, first I fought against the change and uncertainty HARD. I clung to what I knew because I was terrified of the unknown. But then I got tired and finally surrendered, and I became obsessed with healing and figuring out who I was underneath it all.

I now understand that what I was really doing was remembering

Remembering who I was before the world told me who I was supposed to be. Who I was without the relationships and titles that had defined me for so long.

I peeled back the layers, reimagined my belief systems, made friends with the parts of me that I thought made me unlovable, and found a deep sense of empowerment, strength, and purpose.

And here I am. Queerer, woo-ier, steadier. More deeply in love with myself and my life. More connected. Reimagining my work and purpose in the world. And excited to be a facilitator and mirror for others to do the same.

I believe that healing and coaching are more about remembering than anything else. And I think a steady and intuitive guide makes a perfect facilitator for the journey.

I believe in our bodies’ wisdom and our own capacities for expansion.

I believe in magic and that anything is possible.

And I believe that what’s possible is so much better than what we’re afraid of.

I aspire every day to be brave. To stay soft and curious no matter how badly the world tries to interfere. I believe that a more equitable world is possible, and I know that it requires a lot of healing, humanity, compassion, community, and imagination.

I believe in disruption – in big ways and small ones!

I aspire to help people remember who they are under all the social conditioning and violent systems. To connect with who you really are. To feel your feelings and release control and invite joy and ease and expansion.

I don’t catch white people to be less racist. I coach all people who are ready to reconnect with themselves. To heal from all of the harm put on us by systems of oppression and socialization. To cultivate a deep sense of self and safety in our bodies. To release old beliefs, shoulds, and disempowered thoughts and feelings to make space for imagination, expansion and ease.

I believe that healing is necessary for liberation.

I believe that radicalized & identity-based harm is a result of our deep wounds. When I don’t believe that I am whole and worthy, I will hold judgment and create opportunities to assert dominance in an attempt to get a need met.

How to be a better ally is really about how to be a more healed, whole human. How to find deep compassion and humanity for yourself, so you can also give that to others.

Allyship work is personal development and healing work.

This isn’t love and light for the sake of love and life. This is cultivating a deep sense of humanity for the sake of humanity.

And my mission is to hold loving space for healing, joy, and expansion so we can move towards liberation for all.

This is me.

I am so delighted to be in community with you!
