Time to Pivot

Hello Friends,

If you’ve been here for a while, you know I value: Telling the truth, honoring the messy parts of life, especially messy parts of antiracist work, and I value vulnerability and community.

If you’ve been here for a while you’ve likely also seen some shifts in my work from resource sharing and book clubs to workshops to coaching. I don’t think it’s a surprise to anyone that the more I move into antiracist work, the more I question things, and that has always included my role in this work.

Today I’m sharing some thoughts and transitions and clarifying who I am and what this space will be moving forward.

I am a healer and a coach.

I believe that everyone deserves more joy, liberation, and freedom.

I believe that everyone deserves to live free and full, to embody all of who they are, unapologetically.

This is our birthright.

I also believe that systemic oppression makes this incredibly fucking difficult for so many people, and systemic problems require systemic solutions.

While we work for systemic change, we can have individual liberation, joy, and wholeness (or at least more of it!) even if only in our own minds and bodies.

It’s a both/and for me, always.

I am not interested in individual joy so that we can go inside a joyful bubble of privilege and ignore systemic oppression and violence all around us.

I am interested in having more joy while we cultivate systemic change.

I am interested in healing folks showing up in community to change systems with humility, instead of showing up with “good intentions” and something to prove and cause harm.

I am interested in healing as skill-building, not because we’re not worth healing for the sake of our own humanity, but because we lift as we climb. Healing is skill-building to cultivate more humanity for all of us.

And because internalized dominance requires a lot of fucking deep self work and healing!

** I’m talking to us, white folks! All of us.

I am not a “how to be an ally” coach.

I am a:

“how to heal core wounds and move past bullshit socialization to find deep sense of self, empowerment, ease, joy, and conviction that everyone else should have this too”

“supremacy culture is evil so lets heal from it and disrupt it and cultivate liberation”

“I’m sick and fucking tired of being told who I am and how I’m supposed to be  and I’m ready to be me unapologetically”

coach.

I will always be committed to liberation.

I will not stop listening, learning, speaking out, disrupting, and working in community as an accomplice for change.

I will never stop aspiring to divest from whiteness and white supremacy culture.

I will not stop engaging with other white folks (including white coaches!) to be in community with accountability, vulnerability, and love.

And.

I have never believed that white folks – that I! – am best positioned to lead this work.

I cannot educate folks on racism, I can only be a mirror to reflect my own experiences, unpacking and understanding whiteness and how I embody it.

I will continue to work in collaboration to support anti racist action and liberation, most especially with Dr. Jen Fry! We’re an amazing team and you can hire us here!

Beyond that, professionally, I will focus on healing and coaching, for all of us who want to live day-to-day beyond the confines of systemic supremacy culture.

My work on the collective level, systemically, as an activist will never stop, but these email notices and offers will shift.

I am focused on my calling in this life to help cultivate more joy, more ease, and mass expansion past the limits of our socialized roles!

I’m here for fewer gender roles, more F-bombs, less respectability rules, more orgasms, and as much authentic living as humanly possible inside this fucked system.

How does that translate into work?

Stay tuned for coaching opportunities, and RETREATS - yes retreats, in my next email.

If that sounds appealing to you, amazing! I’m so glad that you’re here!!

But if that’s not for you, I completely understand and respect that. Thank you for being a part of this community and for supporting my work! Now, go follow Dr. Jen Fry in all the places.

With love & gratitude,

Victoria
