Life Hack!

I’m reaching out today with a life hack.

If you know me, you know that it’s hilarious that I’d be offering a life hack since I’m barely passing adulting 101!

BUT… this life hack is more of a mindset shift and a coaching tip, and I’m way more skilled in that area! ;)

So here goes…

Whenever you hear yourself thinking “I don’t know what to do” it activates a part of you into a fear response. It doesn’t matter if you’re thinking this about a big thing or a small one, your subconscious hears that thought and thinks “uh oh, the person in charge (you!) doesn’t know what to do and now we’re in big trouble!” – kinda like when my kids catch on to the fact that I have no idea what I’m doing and then they freak out a little.

We all want to know that we can trust the person in charge.

So here’s the life hack.

When you notice yourself having the thought “I don’t know what to do” follow it up with a second thought like: “yes I do, I always know what to do!” or even “but what if I did know what to do, what would it be?

I’m telling you – as silly and cheesy as this sounds, it’s a total game changer!

This second thought offers a powerful shift for your subconscious, allowing it to move from freaking out into actually supporting you in finding more clarity and sturdiness. Instead of activating fear, it will activate a more trusted part of you that can access your tools and help support you through whatever the hard thing is that made you feel clueless.

Because the reality is that you do know, even when you feel like you don’t.

Maybe you don’t know it all, but you can find the next best thing - even if it’s to drink some water and take a breath. Or eat a snack.

When we tell ourselves that we’re capable, we’ll feel more capable.

Life hack.

Try it out and let me know how it goes!

With love + solidarity,

Victoria

PS – If you’re a parent (or you know + love a parent!) and you’d love to receive more support and feel more resourced and capable as you navigate the literal hardest job in the world, add your name to this email list. I’m putting together a program specifically for parents to help us change our parenting story. For me, I’ve been changing mine from insecure and unsure what to do to sturdy, compassionate, capable mom. It’s been life changing and so affirming, and I want to offer the same to you! Add your name to learn more and be the first to hear about this new program. I’d also love it if you’d share with your favorite parent friends who could also use a lil extra love! <3
