One Giant Paradox

Oh hi, Friend!

I am nothing if not one giant paradox swinging between relentless disruption to burn it all down and a relentless pursuit of peace and ease and abundant joy.

The other morning I took a lovely walk alone to get a yummy latte.

I started my walk thinking about (and posting about!) the urgent need for us to divest from white supremacy ideology. It is literally killing us. All of us. Just in very different ways.
More on that in another note…

Then, after I posted it, I noticed this lovely garden with a little sign that read “when you read this think of something you are grateful for” which immediately made me smile.

I stopped to take a picture and as I did, a person in the parked car next to me rolled down the window and told me that she had taken the same picture they day before. We shared a moment about how lovely it was, and I carried on my way.

As I walked away, I started to giggle

I literally go from deep rage against white supremacy to the sweetness of gratitude and community in a moment.

I love this about myself.

And I am also entertained by the paradox that exists in me.

I sometimes feel like a walking contradiction.

One day I write and share about grief and healing and finding joy. And the next I post about disrupting microaggressions and divesting from supremacy culture.

I've sometimes felt like I needed to choose one or that I was too confusing.

But here’s the thing.

They’re basically one and the same.

And I am who I am.

Why fight for our humanity and the eradication of white supremacy if not to have more ease and joy and abundant space for long walks in nature?

But I simultaneously recognize that while some of us can access healing and joy and abundance inside of this hellscape, many others can’t. So we must collectively tear down antiquated systems of violence so that we can all be free.

So I just try to embody them both, as often as possible.
And I hope you’ll do the same.

Tell me, what’s one contradiction you embody that you absolutely love about yourself??

with love + solidarity,
Victoria

PS – this is one of my favorite things about Reconnecting with Pleasure. We’re talking about pleasure as a liberatory mindset. About pleasure-centered living as an act of disruption. A demand to divest from productivity and hustle culture, instead embodying our desires and connections to ourselves and each other. It’s about savoring the walk to get a latte and claiming our sexuality and unapologetically seeking pleasure as a foundation to our lives, not an afterthought.

And right now we’re offering 40% off membership to our newly reimagined program and we have an incredible retreat coming to Joshua Tree, CA in October. Your pleasure is your liberation!
